Contivity vpn client driver vista
Anyone else seen this Eacfilt error or have any input on Contivity Client with Vista? Please refer to this thread: Contivity Vista client. Here is what I've found out After searching high and low I found all of the information that I need, but none of it was in one place.
The thread linked above has just the basic information So instead of just referencing other threads sending people in a circle like half the other stuff on the web, here is everything I've learned Version 6. It won't work on any other OSs. Version 7. Then you have to run the application the same way. Nortel did not include the compatibility mode info on their instructions. I've got it working, but it seems to hang my system when I disconnect, forcing me to reboot.
When I tried to run the 6. I'm getting exactly the same, I get the prompt to open Outward bound udp port which I've done but it still doesn't work. Even turned off the firewall completely but still get the same error. I traced a successful login on XP OS and noticed that some of the packets were a different length. I'll keep digging, when I find out the answer be sure I'll post it here.
Your sys admin needs to configure NAT traversal on the contivity switch. Any update on this? Even if you run as an Admin as it will complaing that this version ifor Vista only. Try this website: I cannot vouch for it's authenticity. Maybe some brave soul will test it for us. Creg, the file there is a beta version and if you install it, it will install but if you run it, it will say it is expired.

It is giving me the "Eacfilt driver must be enabled on the active interface I found the beta 6. I reinstalled it and still says expired. I found another eacd. Needless to say, the new file I found is giving me the Eacfilt error too. Please help! I need the same answer. Just upgraded our NVG to 6. The 6. Opening a ticket with Nortel is a joke.

Wednesday, January 16, AM. Hi All, What ever the solution posted here is all worth less. Also it doesn't require to call your administrator to enable NAT traversal. This may be already resolved but it may help someone else who may be having a similar problem. I had to open up outbound UDP port on the Firewall. Here is the description of what transpired. My company gave us a pre-configured Nortel VPN Client for use on XP but it did not work on Vista, so I downloaded the client for Vista and tried to configure it but I didn't know the information, so I than installed the company one on top of it which did not do anything, it basically looked as if it did not install however, I then installed the updated Nortel one for Vista again on top of that and lo and behold, when I opened up the VPN program almost all of the information was there from the company VPN client.
That is when I came upon the port issue and than fenagled my way through it after much browsing on the internet. Monday, November 3, PM.
Worked perfectly. It was working until I installed OneCare which still has a firewall of it's own even though the Windows firewall is off. Saturday, December 6, AM. I have my firewall turned off And the VPN client still will not connect. Other than the Windows Vista Firewall I have no other applications that I know of that would be blocking traffic. Any ideas are appreciated. I still think this issue cropped up after installing SP1 for Vista. Friday, December 19, AM. So, my laptop is the only computer I use that has Vista For the past few months I have not been traveling, so I forgot about this issue.
Now that I am about to travel again I started trying to find a solution I had about 18 updates according to the Windows Update application. After installing these the client seemed to work. I am too lazy to read through each of the 18 updates but I can assure you that whatever update was released between early November and mid-December fixed the problem with SP1 installed!
